The Milwaukee Common Council found a way to light a mainstream media fire recently -- complain about snow removal. So, I've decided to follow its lead (scary, I know) and complain about potholes. Who's with me?
First, I realize it's pothole season. Water and temperature extremes lead to weakened road surfaces. The cold freezes the moisture in the concrete and then the ground expands cracking the surface and eventually after we all drive over these cracks, we get potholes.
All of the above pictured are in and around Downtown. All are out of control and waiting to damage your car. One already shook my German-made ride to the core.
Consider this blog a warning, Milwaukee and know that I've also reported these and others to DPW Street Maintenance. You can do the same at the below link, and please use the talkback feature to show us your "favorite" potholes.
In the meantime, please drive safely.
