In 2002, the popular nu metal / rap rock band Linkin Park founded a tour called Projekt Revolution. This music extravaganza began as a way to bring a variety of fresh talent from different genres and combine them all onto one stage, and put on an amazing show.

When the tour was founded, it had only one stage, with only four artists performing at each concert. By 2004, the Revolution stage was added to host smaller bands. This addition expanded the number of bands and artists to 13. Yet, despite its growing popularity, Linkin Park discontinued the tour for the next 3 years.

Projekt Revolution returned in 2007, and was more popular than ever. Linkin Park decided to take measures to help the environment through its successful traveling show. Through the charity Music for Relief, the band donated $1 of every ticket to American Forests, and they switched to using a biodiesel fuel for their buses. They also set up a booth at all their shows to inform fans how to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

This year, Linkin Park took the Projekt Revolution tour overseas for the first time for three concerts in Germany -- Munich, Berlin, and Dusseldorf -- and one in Milton Keynes, England. The show in England was recorded as the largest capacity show ever on the tour.

The Revolution tour is coming to Wisconsin, at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, this Saturday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. Playing on the Revolution Stage is Armor for Sleep, Hawthorne Heights, 10 Years, and Atreyu. On the Main Stage for this show is the Street Drum Corps, Ashes Divide, The Bravery, Chris Cornell, and of course, Linkin Park.

Tickets are still available for purchase: $24.75 for general lawn seats, $50.75 for reserved seats, and $70.75 for those wishing to get into the crazy action in the pit. Get your tickets now, and join the Revolution!
