Purple Door Ice Cream has announced that it will be hosting Winterfest, a family friendly celebration featuring winter beverages, festive ice cream, crafts and more.

The festivities will take place at the Walker’s Point scoop shop, 205 S. 2nd St.,  on Saturday, Dec. 17 from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature a very special menu of delightful ice cream-based concoctions.

Warm options include the Ice Cream Joe, an affogato made with coffee from Anodyne or Purple Door’s new “Hot Cocoa Float,” delicious hot cocoa poured over a 2-ounce scoop of your choice of ice cream. Guests who order a hot cocoa float will also receive a free “DIY Marshmallow Snowperson Kit” (kits are also available for purchase in the shop).

Prefer something fantastically frozen?  Indulge in a Polar Paradise Sundae or a scoop of winter favorite ice creams like peppermint, eggnog or gingerbread.

Be sure to bring the kids to make and decorate paper snowflakes to hang at Purple Door or take home with you. Gingerbread House creations from MATC students will also be on display during the event.
