Milwaukee Brat House
1013 N. Old World 3rd St.
(414) 273-8709

When it comes to simple, basic and no-frills bars, the Milwaukee Brat House may be as good as it gets.

Located right in the heart of Old World 3rd Street, the Brat House is surprisingly large and roomy with a lot of bar-area real estate but also a number of tables and semi-secluded booths for groups of varying sizes.

Though, technically, the bar tries to capture the feel of an old, European-style pub blended with a classic Milwaukee tavern, there isn't much of an overall theme. Quite simply it's a bar, with a lot of different beer -- that always comes in pairs.

Additionally, the menu offers a wide selection of brats -- late-night, too -- and the grill produces typical bar fare of above-average quality.

Menu: With 12 beers on tap -- including local favorites Miller Lite and specially-brewed choices from Lakefront -- and another 23 available by the bottle, you'll be sure to find something you like.

Price: Good. Pairs of beer cost between $4 and $6, with nightly specials including three-for-one domestic taps on Thursdays, and $2 pairs on Wednesdays. Monday is Irish Night, with deals on Irish taps, Jameson and car bombs while the Germans get their night on Tuesday.

Dress: What are you wearing right now? As long as you're appropriately covered, you're appropriately dressed.

Parking: It's Downtown, so you're always going to need to do a little work in order to find a spot. But, unless there's an event at the Bradley Center or U.S. Cellular Arena, you shouldn't have too much trouble.
