Although there is a sign in the window saying that the restaurant is closed but under new management, The Red Rock Cafe, 4022 N. Oakland Ave., has closed for good. According to a staff member at neighboring Sommelier's Palate, 4911 N. Oakland Ave., it closed on July 1 and will not reopen.

According to Jim Plaisted, excutive director for the Shorewood Business Improvement District, the property owners hope to keep the location a restaurant and are already talking with a couple of interested businesses.

"I think it's an attractive site for a restaurant, and others seem to agree," says Plaisted.
