Joshua Janis, the owner of Red Rock Saloon, will open the Refuge Smoothie Cafe, 2328 N. Farwell Ave., around April 1.

Janis signed the lease last week and says build-out will begin in February. He says the cafe will be a, "modern, healthier take on the traditional coffee house." The mission statement is "to enjoy our lives and to help others enjoy theirs."

"Selling smoothies and healthier snacks is how we will pay the bills but our goal is to impact positively the community around us. That is how we will define success," says Janis.
