Opening day is coming a bit sooner to Miller Park than expected this season – at least for its new left field restaurant. The new dining spot, which is improbably still called Restaurant To Be Named Later, announced today that it will officially open its doors on Friday, March 6.
Taking the place of the former Front Row Friday's, the new restaurant will offer lunch and dinner options created by executive chef Adam Miller, serving popular Wisconsin staples and bar food favorites – including the clear pride of the opening-day menu: the Double Play burger, featuring both an angus beef patty and a Johnsonville brat patty topped with Havarti cheese, ale mustard and a cherry compote, all on a brioche bun.
As for drink options to wash down that imposing burger, Restaurant To Be Named Later – supposedly still a real name given to a real dining location – will offer a selection of Molson Coors brewers as well as unique cocktails such as the River Walk Paloma, combining Hornitos tequila, orange liqueur and other fruity flavors into a drink perfect for refreshing yourself on one of those roof-open hot summer matinee games.
The updated space will also feature a group event space for both game days and non-game days called the Brew Room, including indoor and outdoor seating for parties of 30-60 people. More information on the Brew Room and its options, visit the Brewers' website.
Starting on Friday, March 6, Restaurant To Be Named Later will be open daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, as well as 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Reservations can be made, but are not required; however, the eatery does offer ticket packages for game day seating on the outdoor tables on its Home Run and Bullpen Porch areas as well as along the windows overlooking the diamond. For more information on tickets, visit Restaurant To Be Named Later's website – where you'll also find additional confirmation that, no, really, it's called Restaurant To Be Named Later.
The Double Play burger and the River Walk Paloma are just a bite of the new restaurant's menu, with the full list planned to debut during the first week of March before its grand opening. So stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for a taste of the whole menu, as well as a first glimpse at the space's renovated new look. And also stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for when Restaurant To Be Named Later is, indeed, actually named later. Because come on, there's no way this is the real name ... right?
I guess we'll find out on March 6.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
