After 36 years as an anchor bar on Water Street, Rosie's Water Works closed this summer and will reopen shortly under new ownership and with a new concept.

After 10 years of working together on myriad projects, Wild Planet Hospitality Group owners Drew Deuster and JJ Kovacovich and Nate Showers, who owns Rogues Gallery, purchased the business located at 1111 N. Water St.

Wild Planet Hospitality Group also owns McGillycuddy's, DiModa, Red Rock Saloon and The Lake House Bar & Grill.

"The three of us started working together at Decibel on North Avenue over 10 years ago," said Deuster. "We’ve been looking for the right opportunity to join forces again and jump into a project as a team, and this iconic Milwaukee location just seemed to be the perfect fit."

Details regarding the bar and grill will be announced within a couple of weeks, but the new owners guarantee "plenty of updates and new things to enhance the property" including a large new deck off the north side of the building and a contemporary menu.

Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more details as they become available.
