Darius Rucker, who spun a gig fronting Hootie and the Blowfish into a successful solo career as an R&B and country artist, will perform a concert following the Admirals' game against Hamilton March 22 at the Bradley Center.
"Darius Rucker has emerged as a country music superstar and we are very pleased to add him to our outstanding concert series for this season," Admirals president Jon Greenberg said.
"His diverse musical talents and chart-topping hits should provide our fans with a great evening of entertainment."
Rucker, who grew up in South Carolina, started his career in 1989 with Hootie and Blowfish and continued with the group until 2001, when he began his solo career. The New York Times called Rucker's "Learn to Live" "one of the year's most vibrant country albums" and Variety Magazine declared, "Country music has a new major star, and the genre may never be the same."
