Rusty's Old 50, a bar and restaurant, is coming to the space formerly occupied by The Velvet Room and Martini Mike's, 730 N. Old World 3rd St.

According to owner Robert Smith, who also owns Mixx Nightclub, 904 S. Barclay St., Rusty's will open in two or three weeks.

Rusty's will offer a full bar and classic American fare, including comfort favorites like meatloaf, burgers and more. The interior features an impressive collection of antiques, including a real 1952 Ford truck, a massive clock from Macy's and vintage beer signage.

This Downtown location in Westown is steps from the Shops of Grand Avenue, ESPN Milwaukee, the Frontier Airlines Center and thousands of residents and Downtown office workers.

In 2010, Six Star Holdings was denied a tavern and cabaret license at the location that would have been called Silk East.
