SURG Restaurant Group announced today that it is ending its relationship with suspended Milwaukee Brewers leftfielder Ryan Braun.
"We've appreciated the relationship we had with Ryan over the last several years, and the entire SURG family wishes him success in the future," said Michael Polaski, CEO and Co-Owner of SURG Restaurant Group.
SURG also said in a press release that Braun supported their decision and passed along "his best of luck to the SURG Restaurant Group as it continues to grow."
Ryan Braun's Graffito, 102 N. Water St., will remain open through the end of 2013 but will close after the holidays; Braun's name will be removed from the restaurant. 8-Twelve MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield, along with its planned sister location at Bayshore Town Center, will also be renamed.
"Our employees and customers have been nothing short of fantastic," said SURG president and co-owner Omar Shaikh. "They understand that our restaurants are about quality food, customer service and a great experience. We are grateful and proud to be an active part of this wonderful community, and we look forward to the future with optimism, particularly with the opportunity to introduce and rebrand two, new exciting restaurant experiences."
