The Milwaukee Brewers announced Thursday that outfielder Ryan Braun underwent a cryotherapy procedure today on his right thumb.
The team said in a statement that the surgery was performed at the Kerlan Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles by Dr. Vernon Williams.
A follow-up on Monday will allow Braun to begin swinging if there are no adverse effects.
Braun had his worst offensive season in 2014, hitting .266 with 19 home runs, 81 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 135 games.
