More help is on the way to NYC. On Fri., Sept. 28, America's Second Harvest of Wisconsin sent its trucks to New York City filled with backpacks full of high-protein snack foods, bottled water, juice and fruit packs.

On Mon., Sept. 17, OnMilwaukee.com employees helped Second Harvest pack 500 backpacks of food and water. As part of "Project 9-11," the two companies spent the day on the assembly line at the agency's north side warehouse.

In the past weeks, an additional 500 backpacks were filled because as Bonnie Bellehumeur, president and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank said, "We want to ensure rescue workers have a ready, easy-to-distribute supply of nutritious food."

Milwaukeeans can still help out by donating online at www.secondharvestwi.org.
