It may feel nothing like summer outside, but Milwaukee got a surprising blast of summer news this morning as Summerfest announced its opening night headliner for next summer's Big Gig: Selena Gomez, who will bring her worldwide "Revival Tour" to town on Wednesday, June 29.
Gomez started her career as a Disney starlet featured on the TV show "Wizards of Waverly Place" before moving into pop music, hitting the charts with singles like "Come & Get It," "Slow Down," "The Heart Wants What It Wants" and, most recently, "Good For You." She has also continued her acting career since her split from Disney, starring in "Spring Breakers" and the upcoming "Neighbors 2" as well as lending her voice to both "Hotel Transylvania" films.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. They can be purchased at the Summerfest box office in person or over the phone at 414) 273-2600, as well as through Ticketmaster ticket centers, Walmart stores, Ticketmaster.com or either of Ticketmaster's two hotlines – (800) 745-3000 for a live Ticketmaster agent or (866) 448-7849 for its Ticketmaster Express phone line.
There will be a few pre-sales for tickets to the concert. Citi card members and Selenagomez.com music store customers will have access to a presale starting Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. through citiprivatepass.com. In addition, Summerfest fans who stay connected through email alerts, Twitter and Facebook will also get a chance to buy tickets early on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. or until the pre-sale inventory has been exhausted.
So that's one headliner down and 10 to go for Summerfest, which runs next year from June 29 through July 10 with an off-day on the Fourth of July.
