Rebecca Skloot, the author of "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks," will read at Boswell Book Company on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. The event is free.

Rebecca's father, the poet and essayist Floyd Skloot, will read a few poems and introduce her.

According to a review of the book by Boswell's Daniel Goldin, "Skloot tells the story of Lacks' cancer cells while also telling the story of Lacks' family, and how they were left behind in the profits made from the cell cultivation."

Skloot was recently on "The Colbert Report," and discussed her work with Tavis Smiley on PBS.

Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.

Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
