If you’ve been craving a Downtown spot to get your Pete’s Pops fix, you’re in luck. Pete Cooney is bringing his pops to the Milwaukee Public Market.
Cleverly dubbed Sneaky Pete’s, the seasonal outdoor pop-up stand (located along the St. Paul Avenue sidewalk plaza next to the Draft Patio) will be serving up Pete’s signature pops, plus a newly released line of alcoholic slushies and frozen treats.
Guests can get their fix beginning Friday, June 25.
“My first day of pushing out a Pete's Pops cart was in June of 2014 at the corner of Broadway and St. Paul Avenue in the Third Ward,” says Cooney. “To now have a seasonal location here, at one of Milwaukee's most iconic destinations, is something that makes me incredibly proud, honored and thankful.”
Cooney says the idea for Sneaky Pete’s has been marinating for quite some time and was birthed largely from fan requests for alcoholic versions of their pops.
“I'm excited for the public to try our new alcoholic slushies and pop-tails, which will be inspired by our favorite pop flavors,” he says. “We'll also have a full selection of our signature non-alcoholic pops available for families and kids that visit the market!"
Pete's Pops features more than 100 flavors of pops, including fan favorites like salted watermelon, pineapple jalapeno, coffee n’ donuts and more. Pete’s also offers catering for events, including those held at the Public Market.
“Pete Cooney embodies the true spirit of a creative Milwaukee entrepreneur who has built a fun and flavorful brand,” notes Paul Schwartz, executive director of the Milwaukee Public Market and Business Improvement District #2. “Pete’s products are adored by people of all ages and backgrounds, and we’re thrilled to add their operation to the vibrant activity along our St Paul Avenue sidewalk this summer.”
Sneaky Pete’s will be open (weather permitting) Thursday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
