The "Social Circle" is a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

This week, OnMilwaukee.com published an article about a husband and wife who started two businesses together and work in the same space every day. They are extremely happy and successful this way, but maybe it’s not for everyone.

When posed the question, the Social Circle had a wide range of responses. What do you think? Could you work with your significant other?

Steph Davies: "Yeah! Used to tour with the husband. I'd book the shows, open for him and he'd headline. It worked well and was a ton of fun!"

Debbie Dean: "Not in a million years."

Yvonne Edler: "Been doing it for 10 years. He's still alive … barely."

Gene Evans: "We've worked together for the last 14 years. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it sucks. Just like any other job."

Tony Farrell: "Working on it. It’s definitely a work in progress."

Skip Forrest: "Been there done that. Ruined the job and the relationship."

Patrick Fox: "No. Ducking. Way. That's right I said ducking."

Charity Hanssen: "Yes. We are both teachers in the same school. Love it!"

Paul Kennedy: "That would be worse than having R. Kelly babysit my kids."

Lisa Malmarowski: "I have for 16 years, happily and creatively, but I never, ever could have worked with my ex. Ever. I think it depends on the couple and the relationship. We never fight so there's never any weirdness with us at work in front of others and we're both convinced if we didn't work where we do, we would find other work to do together. Hell, we share an art studio and even spend time in that together. We're pretty sickening."

Susan Million: "We've worked a few times together and it's been great. Somehow the relationship part goes away and professionalism and our job begins. We both work similarly too so that helps."

Maria Raboin: "I worked with my now-husband for a year. It actually worked out pretty well, obviously."

Claudia Reilly: "Not only do I work with my husband, but also my son-in-law and brother's ex-wife."

Ari Rosenthal: "Nope. Most people can't. Those who think they can just haven't done it long enough."

Laura Schiff: "It's been 10 years working with my partner. No issues and always a fun commute."

Michael Schmidt: "I could, and would anytime. Kim is the best business partner ever!"

Joe Sorge: "Been doing it every day for 15 years."

Jenny Steinman Heyden: "Yes, we met at work. Though that's why I never knew he was shorter than I am because we'd get up to help people at the computer lab separately."

Don Sefton: "Never again! We tried it once long ago. We both like to be in charge."

Toni Spott: "We've thought about it, but it's not easy to have two people on commission."

M. Laurel Walsh: "I would love to open a private detective agency with my honey!"

Patty Zastrow-Jankowski: "Never. We are complete opposites and complement each other perfectly, but if I had to work with that control freak I would jump off a cliff. Sorry, but it's true. We work different shifts because that's what works for us. Absence makes the heart grow fonder in our case."
