Where can you find two bands and a DJ for the price of a Stoli raspberry and tonic? On Sept. 22, it could be found at The Social (434 S. 2nd St.). This place is a haven for new music.

To start the night off, Old Man Malcolm, former Citizen King DJ and one of Milwaukee's premier DJs, spun some records during the dinner hour. It was high energy mixing and scratching while never losing the dinner hour feel.

How does one classify a band with a rippin' guitarist, grooving bassist, solid drummer and one of Milwaukee's most up and coming musicians playing keys and sax? Sounds like Strong Computer, the first band in the night's line-up.

Strong Computer is made up of Jamie Shavers on guitar, Ted Brusobardis on drums, John Dominguez on bass and Jason Todd, also of Def Harmonic, on Fender Rhodes electric piano and soprano saxophone. Todd writes the band's original music. The sound is a mix between the moodiness of Air and the keyboard funk of Medeski, Martin and Wood.

Pele, a three-piece instrumental rock band, finished up the night with their own brand of instrumental rock and roll. The bass and guitar interplay worked well with the schizophrenic drumming. A spartan band with a very powerful sound, it comprises of drummer Chris Rosenau, bassist Matt Tenessen and guitarist Jon Mueller.
