Seeing a film in a historic theater is almost like stepping back in time, to an era of popcorn for a dime and unrestrained cigarette smoking.
Over the years, historic theaters made adjustments to compete with the chains, like adding additional screens and unique concessions. Hence, many moviegoers prefer the opulence of historic theaters over the average interior of a chain theater.
