Nobody wants to crank the heat any earlier than they have to, but Wisconsin has unpredictable weather patterns and sometimes it gets chilly long before it "should."

Are you one of those people with a strict rule about when you can turn on the heat or do you turn it on whenever you get cold, regardless of early exorbitant heat bills?

Sound-off, Milwaukee, and let us know when you turn it up: Oct. 1, Nov. 1 or any time the temperature dips below 50 degrees?

I will not turn my heat on until a specific date. I am very strict about when I turn on my heat. I pile on sweaters, wrap up in a blanket and drink hot tea before I turn on my heat. I do not want to pay heating bills any sooner than I absolutely have to.

I turn my heat on when I’m cold.
I cannot live in a chilly house, so whenever it feels cold inside to me, I just turn on the heat and accept that the expensive bill is practically in the mail. It’s just a part of living in Wisconsin. Being cold sucks.
