OK, fast foodies, here’s your chance to weigh in on your big ol’ sandwich of choice. Do you prefer McDonald’s Big Mac or Burger King’s Whopper?

McDonald’s Big Mac was invented in 1967 and originally was named the “Aristocrat” and then the “Blue Ribbon Burger.” The Big Mac is a hamburger with three buns, stacked with two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun. (You remember the jingle.) It has 30 grams of fat and 540 calories.

The Whopper, Burger King’s signature hamburger, has a single, beef patty on a sesame seed bun layered with mayo, lettuce, sliced onions, tomatoes, pickles and ketchup. Also, the menu features a double, triple and junior Whopper. The regular Whopper, which has been around since 1957, has 39 grams of fat and 670 calories.

So, when you have a hankering for a sloppy, fast food sandwich, and there’s a McDonald’s and a Burger King on the same block, where do you go? Do you pick a Whopper or Big Mac? Toss out your opinion by using the talkback feature.

Big Mac. Even though it’s been around for less time, McDonald's Big Mac is more of a classic. It’s bigger, tastes better and has that extra bun in the middle to add bulk and prevent spillage. I’m also a big fan of the special sauce.

Whopper. The charbroiled taste is the best, and I like the pickles and sliced onions, both of which are bigger than on The Mac. Even though it features just one beef patty and has more fat and calories, the overall taste blows away the competition so it’s worth the splurge.
