"Sprecher Brewery has something new brewing that we are very excited about," the company wrote in an Instagram post earlier today. And indeed, it does.

According to the Journal Sentinel, Sprecher Brewing Co. plans to open a taproom next month just two blocks from its original brewing grounds. The Glendale-based brewery opened in 1985 at 730 W. Oregon Ave., and will open the taproom just two blocks away at 706 S. 5th St. in the former Brenner Brewing space.

The taproom will open to the public on Feb. 17. Sprecher rented the space including the Brenner's brewing equipment, but at this point, Sprecher does not plan to brew at the taproom. Instead, it will serve as a community meeting and drinking spot as well as a place for tour-goers to drop by before and after tours.

Sprecher did not rent the adjoining space, which was occupied by an artists' collective and gallery called the Pitch Project.

The facility has 24 taps lines, and Sprecher pans to serve a variety of Sprecher products by the mug, flight and "by the boot."
