According to an employee of the Starbucks at 17980 W. Bluemound Road, CEO Howard Schultz is scheduled to visit the store and hold a meeting for employees only at the Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 790 N. Van Buren St., on Wednesday, April 1.

"This is hypothetically speaking," says the employee. "It could change at any time."

Yesterday, Starbucks – in partnership with USA TODAY – announced it will encourage baristas at 12,000 Starbucks locations to start customer conversation on the topic of race by writing the words "Race Together" on the coffee cups.

It is believed Schultz is visiting areas with particularly challenged race relations and chose Milwaukee because of the recent shooting of Dontre Hamilton in Red Arrow Park which features a Starbucks.

At the time of this report, Starbucks media did not respond to a request for confirmation, but stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com for more information about this when it becomes available.
