The Chicago Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Science has nominated the GUMBO Television show for the 2003-'04 Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement for Children's Programming.

This is GUMBO TV's third nomination. The show received an Emmy in 2003. The Emmy Awards ceremony takes place Saturday, Dec. 4 in Chicago.

"I think it is so great that kids can receive Emmys," said Denise Seehawer, host of the current season of GTV and a Milwaukee High School of the Arts senior. "It feels really good to think that I might graduate high school and be able to say that part of something I did got two Emmys."

GUMBO TV is produced entirely by 15 Milwaukee area high school students at Strive Media Institute. The fourth season began on WTMJ on Oct. 2.
