In case it wasn't feeling warmer outside already, the Summer Soulstice music festival today announced the date for 2023, returning to the East Side for a full day of music and fun on Saturday, June 17.
Last year's festival – its 20th edition – marked the first Summer Soulstice since 2019.
“We are currently planning for 2023 and working hard to make
Milwaukee’s largest free music festival even better than last year," said East Side executive director David Smulyan. "Our musical talent booking agent, Jayk Burczyk, has been talking to an amazing array of bands and is excited about the possibilities for this year."
The festival will feature three music stages spread across its East Side footprint, sprawling out on East Kenilworth Place and Ivanhoe Place along with DJs and dancing in Black Cat Alley. The festival is also looking into expanding its 2023 footprint to include North Farwell Avenue between North Avenue and East Kenilworth Place.
According to Burczyk, Summer Soulstice aims to announce its musical acts and lineups late next month – so stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more Summer Soulstice updates, as well as more updates for the rest of the fast-approaching festival season.
As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.
When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
