Your guide to having a great summer is brought to you by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino and Peoples State Bank.

Beer is most definitely the official beverage of the Big Gig, but sometimes a boozier libation is in order. Personally, I miss the old-school, red-or-white Summerfest Wine Coolers – and yet the selection of cocktails is impressive enough to stop me from a single grumble about the lack of coolers during my festgoing last week.

Here are a few of our favorites and where to find them:

Electric Lemonade from JoJo's Martini Lounge
JoJo's, located on the far-south end of the grounds between The Amp and the BMO Stage, offers a wide selection of cocktails, both pre-mixed and made to order. Long Islands, Bloody Mary's and Chocolate Martinis are all on the menu, as is the refreshing blue-hued Electric Lemonade.

Water Street Brewery Berry Hibiscus Seltzer
Because we always enter at the South Gate, we usually start our Summerfest season with a Water Street beverage, and this year went with their hard seltzer instead of the usual Honey Lager Light. 'Twas definitely refreshing with notes of strawberry, hibiscus and dragonfruit.

Drink Wisconsinbly's Brandy Old Fashioned
We've had them many times before, and they never disappoint. Drink Wisconsinbly's Old Fashioneds are available at beer stands, including this one near the Miller Lite Oasis. Central Standard's Door County Cherry Vodka Lemonade is also available here.

What's Poppin' from The Bubly Bar Experience
Located on the lakefront, the chill Bubly Bar offers a relaxing respite from the hustle and has a half dozen cocktails and mocktails made with Bubly seltzer. We went with the "What's Poppin'" which featured a sweet, tangy mix of pineapple Bubly, Champagne, orange juice and pineapple juice.

Summerfest takes place again June 30-July 2 and July 7-9.
