Carlos Santana will headline the Marcus Amphitheater at Summerfest on July 1, officials announced today. Santana, who will appear with Steve Winwood, is the ninth headliner announced for the 11-day run of the festival.

"The Carlos Santana Universal Tone Tour 2010" begins June 30 with an initial North American leg running through early August. The tour will feature hits from Santana's four-decade career, as well as songs from a brand new studio album that Santana is finishing. Santana's most recent release was the 2010 reissue of "Supernatural" as a double-CD "Legacy Edition" that featured 11 previously unissued bonus tracks in celebration of the Grammy-winning album's 10th anniversary.

Santana is currently appearing at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the only place west of the Mississippi where he'll perform in 2010.

Winwood has performed at the Amphitheater several times in the past. In addition to his solo career, he was a member of the Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith and Traffic. He was inducted in to the Rock and Roll hall of Fame in 2004 as a member of Traffic. His list of hits includes "Higher Love," "Arc of a Diver," "Valerie" and "While You See a Chance."

Tickets for the show will go on sale through SantanaFanClub.com beginning Tuesday. General ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. April 24 and are available at the Marcus Amphitheater box office, via Ticketmaster and by phone (800) 745-3000.

Summerfest 2010 runs from June 24 to July 4.
