Support Our Schools Wauwatosa (SOS) will host a free "Support Our Schools Fall Forum" to help parents and citizens understand concerns about funding shortages for K-12 schools in Wauwatosa and across Wisconsin on Monday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at Wauwatosa West High School (11400 West Center Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53222).

"Parents and community members deserve a thoughtful, factual conversation about the value of public schools and how the budget impacts them," said Mary Young, SOS Wauwatosa president. "They want to know what’s ahead for our kids' schools and classrooms – will they be able to modernize or will they be cut?"

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Dr. Julie Mead, UW-Madison Professor of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis
  • Tom McCarthy, Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Communications Director
  • John Forester, Wisconsin School Administrators Alliance Director of Government Relations
  • Dr. Phil Ertl, Wauwatosa School District Superintendent
