It looks as if there’s a new breakfast and lunch spot on the way for the Third Ward.

A new restaurant called Sweet Diner is slated to open sometime this summer at 239 E. Chicago St. in the vacant space next to Inspired, a gallery and home furnishings boutique.

One of the owners of the business is George Prassis, a restaurateur who also operates Sugar Bowl and Mr. Gyros, both restaurants in the Chicagoland area.

The restaurant will serve breakfast and lunch, and has applied for a liquor license from the city.

According to documents filed with the city of Milwaukee, Sweet Diner is slated to open by June 1 with hours from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
