Sad you missed The Killers play the historic first concert inside the new Fiserv Forum last fall? Well, unfortunately we can't re-debut the arena, but thanks to Summerfest, we can at least bring the Vegas-based rockers back to Milwaukee, as the Big Gig announced today that The Killers, joined by special guest Death Cab for Cutie, will headline the world's largest music festival on July 5 – less than a year after its Fiserv Forum show. 

Fronted by lead singer Brandon Flowers, The Killers broke out in the mid-'00s with its smash debut studio album, "Hot Fuss," featuring the monster hits "Mr. Brightside," "Somebody Told Me" and "All These Things That I've Done." Over its following four albums – most recently 2017's "Wonderful Wonderful" – the band has continue to explore new areas of rock, digging into arena anthems, Americana, '80s new wave, techno pop, and more, scoring seven Grammy nominations in the process. 

Tickets for The Killers with Death Cab for Cutie go on sale at Friday, March 8 at noon on Ticketmaster and Summerfest's website. Tickets can also be bought in person at the Summerfest box office, Ticketmaster ticket centers and select Walmart stores, as well as by phone at (800) 745-3000 for a live Ticketmaster Agent or (866) 448-7849 for the "Ticketmaster Express" automated phone line.

The Vegas-born band joins country trio Thomas Rhett, Jason Aldean and Zac Brown Band as well as indie icon Bon Iver and rock legend Ozzy Osbourne as 2019 Big Gig headliners. Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more festival announcements, and for the complete lineup, coming soon.
