Earlier today, Ryan Oschmann, co-owner of The Eatery on Farwell, 2014 N. Farwell Ave., posted to Facebook that the restaurant was closed.

He wrote:

"The Eatery is officially closed. Our landlords decided that they would rather sell the place to someone else then have us stay there. Nothing we could do about it. It has been a pleasure knowing and serving all of you over the years and I look forward to the opportunity to doing it again! It is very sad day for all of us. Please stayed tuned for our future plans."

The Eatery moved into the space – which was Pepe’s Rockin’ Taco Shack – in 2010.

Unfortunately, ever since La Casita left the building more than a decade ago there hasn't been one place that really found its home there. (Although Kevin Sloan's Sol Fire came pretty close. I loved the Latin food and dramatic decor.)

Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee.com to find out what's next for this space.
