Locals can experience the thrill of BMX racing on Tuesday, June 21, when Milwaukee BMX @ The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin hosts a free BMX event to celebrate Olympic Day.

From 5:30–6:30 p.m. participants can register at no charge to test their skills in a race immediately following on the exciting BMX track. No membership is required, but participants must bring their own BMX bike (with no reflectors or kickstands), helmet, long pants and long-sleeved shirts.

"We are excited to take part in Olympic Day and inspire kids in the Franklin/Milwaukee community. The Milwaukee BMX Track is proud to support the Olympic Movement and encourage children and adults to lead healthy, active lives," said Amy Graham of Milwaukee BMX @ The Rock Sports Complex.

The USA BMX has more than 2,000 events taking place nationwide during the month of June. The events, designed to engage youth and promote the ideals of the Olympic movement, feature athlete appearances, family-friendly activities and interactive learning experiences.
