After months of teasing with "coming soon" signs, Walker's Point's Times Square Bistro & Pizzeria, 605 S. 1st St., opened this April.

The new pizzeria is located in the same strip mall that houses a Mobile gas station, Gyro Palace and Martha's Vineyard liquor store, and to help acquaint itself with the neighborhood's clientele, the bistro is offering free pizza samples for Martha's Vineyard's customers. The liquor store's employees say that Times Square has been bringing over a couple large pizzas with various toppings in the early evenings between Wednesday and Sunday.

Times Square Bistro & Pizzeria offers 12- and 16-in. hand-tossed pizzas ranging in price from $11 to $21.50 and pizza by the slice -- served with a garlic roll -- for $3.50. The new restaurant also features six pasta entrees ($6-7), seven sandwiches ($6), seven calzones ($6), a variety of salads ($6-9) and appetizers ($5-7).

They'll do delivery with a $15 minimum order.

Julie Lawrence Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.

As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
