The iced toboggan slide at Whitnall Park is back open. If you've never been, and don't hate fun, you should definitely check out the beautifully groomed sled track.
While most things definitely stink when it gets this cold, the toboggan run actually gets faster.
"Conditions have been cold enough for the toboggan slide to run fast. Top speeds may hit 35 miles per hour," said Ralph Hodkiewicz, South Deputy Regional Manager of Milwaukee County Parks.
The track is more than 1,020 feet long and toboggans cost about $7 an hour with unlimited runs. Whitnall Park is at 6700 S. 92 St., between College and Rawson Avenues, and the track is open Fridays 4-8 p.m., Saturdays noon to 8 p.m. and Sundays noon to 6 p.m.
