If you like dancing bears, contortionists and elephant rides, you’ll be happy to know that the Tripoli Shrine Circus is rolling into town again this spring. Now in its 86th year, the circus returns to Milwaukee, May 13-15 for six shows.

The fun will take place at the UWM Panther Arena, with tickets ranging from $15-35. They go on sale this Friday.

In addition to aerial acrobats, daredevils and extraordinary feats of athleticism, the two-hour extravaganza includes a canine revue, dancing bears, the Captain Leo Cannonball, Laser light show, high wire, steel globe riders, The Bone Breakers contortion dance group from “America’s Got Talent” and more. And yes, elephant rides will be offered immediately following each show. Acts are subject to change up until showtime

The shows run Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 8 p.m, and Sunday, May 15 at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Milwaukee’s Tripoli Shrine Center, a 1928 architectural replica of India’s Taj Mahal, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Tripoli Shrine Center, is home and headquarters to Milwaukee’s Shriners International.

The Shriners, founded in New York City in 1872, are an organization composed solely of Master Masons. This is an international fraternity of members that belong to 195 Shrine Centers Worldwide. The Shrine, although known for colorful parades, circuses and clowns, has a very serious side. Since 1922, the Shrine has supported and operated a network of 22 specialized hospitals providing expert, orthopedic and burn care to children 18 and under, regardless of the patient’s or family’s ability to pay.
