Gallery Night and Day is this coming weekend, Oct. 15-16, and there are a few new spots coming online.

Plaid Tuba Holdings, LLC, a creativity support consortium, has partnered with Mandel Group, Inc. to create the Mandel Creative Studio in the Marine Terminal Building at 120 N. Broadway. Plaid Tuba will direct the studio effort and provide support service for participating creative professionals.

Mandel Group is contributing the use of the space at no cost to underwrite the effort. Plaid Tuba will serve as a creative professionals support service, assisting creative professionals with logistics, marketing and promotion. 

The Mandel Creative Studio's first two participating creative professionals are painter Reginald Baylor of Milwaukee, and leather craftsman Kenton Sorenson of Cottage Grove, In addition to the two inaugural creative professionals, the Mandel Creative Studio will also house Devin Arch Design, Chris Hutton Photography and HollenWolff USA.

Also in the Historic Third Ward, A Trio Jewelry Design opens at 215½ N. Water St., a space most recently occupied by Quality Candy/Buddy Squirrel. Owner/designer Amy Shallow will conduct on-site demonstrations showcasing A Trio’s original design process of marrying artistic concept with computer-based design programming.  Noah Bern and Mike Shallow are the other 2/3 of the A Trio team.

A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.

He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.

Early in his career, Sherman was one of youngest members of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, and currently is involved in numerous civic and community groups - including board positions at The Wisconsin Center District, Wisconsin Club and Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.  He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.  

He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
