Latinas Unidas en las Artes (LUNA) is a local collective of women, Latinx artists who launched their first store, Luna Pop-Up Store & Studio, this fall. It is now in full-blown holiday shopping mode featuring the creative work of more than 25 artists.

Wares include hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, wall art, household items, clothing, zines, cards and more. The fun, colorful space is also used for community events,  studio space for artists and a gallery.

"We have a lot of fun and different gifts to choose from that are all made by local artists," says Yessica Jimenez, LUNA member.

Luna is part of the Pop-Up MKE program, a pilot project that builds social entrepreneurs in local commercial areas.

Luna will be open through Sunday, Dec. 8, at which point another pop-up in the program will take over the space. The hours are Wednesday-Friday from 12 to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"This is a great experience for us. We've learned a lot about how to run a store and now we can decide if we want to pursue this in the future," says Josseline Castillo, member of LUNA.
