In the midst of laundry loads, work deadlines, and that social event you knew was too much and should have said no to, it's challenging to find time to slow down and turn inward. But what if we made time this year?
The women-led organization U.P.LIFT Day and Weekend Retreats is now offering the "U.P.LIFT Virtual Reset," a series of 12, one-hour guided sessions on the new moon of every month in 2025. During each session, participants will practice breathwork and meditation to create inner power. They'll also harness the energy of the new moon – the phase when the moon is invisible from earth or just a sliver in the sky – to realign and set clear intentions through reflective journaling for the month ahead.
The first two Virtual New Moon Resets are set for Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 7 to 8 p.m.; and Thursday, Feb. 27, from 7 to 8 p.m. The cost is $22 per session or a special-rate Bundle Package that includes all 12 for $222 (two of the sessions are free). Go here for more information and to sign up.
Heather Wesley and Renee Luna Bebeau started the U.P.LIFT Day and Weekend Retreats last year and decided to host a monthly, online series to help people maintain self-care more regularly.
Bebeau is an artist, mystic, healer and musician who focuses her attention on spirit through her many endeavors relating to healing. She is a Reiki master, fortune teller, painter for Luna and Cello, drummer for the chamber rock group Nineteen Thirteen and a multi-disciplinary artist.
Wesley, who has a background in social work, is a spiritual life coach and motivational speaker with a passion for plant medicine and holistic health. Through practices like breathwork, Reiki and intuitive guidance, she creates transformative spaces for healing and self-discovery.
"This is the perfect time to nurture yourself, lean into change and choose love over fear," says Wesley. "My phrase of the year is 'audacious faith,' a reminder to trust that everything is unfolding for a reason and to fiercely believe in yourself and the good in others."
Later in 2025, U.P.LIFT will also host a Day Retreat in Milwaukee and a Weekend Retreat in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Go here for more information.
According to Bebeau and Wesley, the New Moon is the best time for this kind of work because it's dark, empty and full of potential. It's the beginning of the moon cycle, and therefore, the ideal time to set intentions for the new month.
Plus, according to numerology, 2025 is a "No. 9 year" that represents the end of a cycle and a great time to clear out what's not working in anticipation of a new cycle that begins in 2026.
"(2025) is a great time to finish projects, clean out old closets, tie up loose ends, end toxic relationships and make room for all the new opportunities that will present themselves next year," says Bebeau.
