"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee is brought to you by Miller Brewing Company, calling Milwaukee home since 1855. For the entire month of March, we're serving up fun articles on bars, clubs and beverages – including guides, the latest trends, bar reviews, the results of our Best of Bars poll and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

Urban Bay View, 2301 S. Logan Ave., will close by the end of the month – possibly sooner – according to owner Paul Jonas and as first reported by Milwaukee Record.

The bar will be open at least through St. Patrick's Day and then quickly change hands and names. By April 1, Ricky Ramirez – a former bartender at Tonic Tavern, also owned by Jonas – hopes to start serving drinks under the name, The Mothership. Ramirez  is a seasoned service industry professional who worked at Transfer, Strange Town and The Vanguard.

Jonas says the corner lounge named after his father went over budget from the beginning and he never quite made up for it in revenue.

"I have mixed emotions about this," says Jonas. "I would have liked for this to work, but I know Ricky is going to do a great job. He's creative, has expertise and always had a lot of aspirations."

Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for a first look at The Mothership next month.
