The Milwaukee women's basketball team will host a four-game homestand just before the end of the season, the Horizon League office announced today with the release of the conference schedules.
UWM will open up the conference season with a pair of home just before the new year. It all starts Dec. 29 in a rematch of last year's Horizon League Tournament semifinal against Wright State. Two days later, Northern Kentucky comes to town for a New Year's Eve matchup.
Milwaukee hits the road for the first time one week later with the short trip to UIC on Jan. 5, continuing on just down the road to Valparaiso Jan. 7.
The Panthers return home just four days later for a three-game homestand. It starts off with a midweek game against Oakland, followed by a Jan. 13 contest against Detroit and then another midweek matchup, this time against UIC on Jan. 17.
Up next is a pivotal five-game road stretch, starting Jan. 21 at in-state rival Green Bay. After one of its closest road contests of the year, Milwaukee makes one of its longest treks heading to Cleveland State (Jan. 26) and Youngstown State (Jan. 28). The next weekend sends the Panthers to the state of Michigan, taking on Detroit (Feb. 2) and Oakland (Feb. 4).
UWM then returns to the friendly confines of the Klotsche Center for four-straight home games. Things kick off Feb. 9 with Youngstown State before a Feb. 11 contest against Cleveland State. Green Bay comes to campus Feb. 18 before the home finale Feb. 20 against Valpo.
Milwaukee then closes out the regular season at Northern Kentucky (Feb. 24) and at Wright State (Feb. 26).
