After years of tumultuous transition, The Vega Star emerges victorious with its first full length album in tow.

Tonight, The Vega Star promotes its new album "The Night" with a show at Linneman's Riverwest Inn, 1001 E. Locust St. Set to be released in February, receive a card for a free download upon completion of "The Night" at tonight's show.

So, in a sense, this is the long-awaited CD release party.

Only describable as a combination of the Fleet Foxes, Colin Meloy and the Velvet Underground; the band's sound is eerily mellow with sauntering lyrics of impacting depth.

The Vega Star, originally formed in 2002, re-emerged in 2006 with the current line-up of Justin Rolbiecki, Jackson Messner, John Juchemich and Stephen DeLassus.

Jentri Colello and Josh Harty from Madison will open tonight's show.

The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $6 or $10 with a card for the album.
