View MKE, the Brewers Hill restaurant at 1818 N. Hubbard St., has announced that it will close, at least temporarily, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The announcement, which was made on Facebook Wednesday afternoon, reads:
"We regret to announce that View MKE will be closing for the winter season. After a very challenging year, and with much uncertainty still in the air, we have made the difficult decision to shutter the doors and wait out the storm. This is a grim reality many small businesses will continue to face as the pandemic rages on.
PLEASE support your local businesses, they need you now more than ever. To our staff, we thank you for your hard work and dedication during very trying times. You will be missed dearly. To all of our wonderful guests and supporters, we sincerely appreciate you and look forward to seeing you again next spring. Take care of yourselves, each other, and the communities that serve you. This too shall pass."
The restaurant, owned by Carl Tomich, president of WestRidge Builders, opened in June of 2018 in the building which formerly housed Roots and subsequently Wolf Peach.
