Vince Gill will share the Milwaukee Theatre stage with Ashley Monroe, Charlie Worsham and daughter Jenny Gill at 8 p.m. on March 22. The show, "Vince Gill & Friends," is a thematic extension of Gill's January round of shows with fellow musician Lyle Lovett.
Monroe was a rising star and formidable songwriter before she joined forces with Miranda Lambert and Angeleena Presley to form the Pistol Annies. Worsham's opened for Taylor Swift before going on to distinguish himself as a recording artist on Rubberband, his debut album for Warner Bros. Now singing backup with Amy Grant, Jenny Gill - of course - has had music in her since day one.
Vince Gill, the headliner is a 20-time Grammy-winner, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry. He has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was recently declared a BMI Icon, an honor reserved for the most influential songwriters. He is also a member of the Grammy-nominated Nashville supergroup, the Time Jumpers.
Gill says all three guest performers will be on stage with him and his band for the duration of each show. "This won’t be a ‘guitar pull,’" he explains, "where one person sings while the others listen and wait for their turn. We’ll all be pitching in, picking and singing harmony for each other and doing each other’s songs. It will be a musical collaboration – not a headliner with opening acts."
Reserved seats are $27.50, $39.50 and $59.50. $1 from each ticket will go to Camp Hometown Heroes, a free, week-long, overnight summer camp for children who have lost a parent, sibling or other loved one who died in any manner including combat, accident, illness or suicide, while serving in the U.S. military. Vince Gill and Friends will match the proceeds raised.
Tickets are available at noon Friday at the box office, 500 W Kilbourn Ave., by phone at at (800) 745-3000 or at Ticketmaster.com.
