Ask for information and you shall receive. Not long after posting a brief regarding the closing of east side’s Vox, OnMilwaukee.com received confirmation that the Vox is indeed permanently closed and will re-open as Vintage, 2203 N. Prospect Ave., in March.

Under new ownership and management, the bathrooms, floors, walls and bar are currently undergoing renovation.

"There are a lot of different catch phrases that we’re playing around with but it’s going to be a neighborhood bar of sorts," Kristin Godfrey of Vintage management says.

While the details are yet to be determined, Vintage will remain similar to the Vox: no kitchen or live music but great deals and a full bar.

"We still have to pick the beers to go on tap. I’ll never give up Spotted Cow, so that will be there and the owner wants Pabst. As for the rest, we’ll have to see," Godfrey says.

After living on the east side of Madison for several years, Maureen returned to Milwaukee in 2006.

After a brief stint of travel, Maureen joined OnMilwaukee.com as the city’s oldest intern and has been hooked ever since. Combining her three key infatuations, Milwaukee’s great music, incredible food and inspiring art (and yes, in that order), Maureen’s job just about fits her perfectly.

Residing in Bay View, Maureen vehemently believes the city can become fresh and new with a simple move across town.
