Milwaukee foodies, mark your calendar for another great week of dining. As we move into the heart of Downtown Dining Week, another new event to highlight the culinary scene has been announced.

Company B Brand Marketing – a local marketing/branding firm that specializes in hotels such as The Iron Horse Hotel – moved to Walker's Point in 2013 and owner Brigette Breitenbach made it one of her goals to help make the Walker's Point neighborhood known as Milwaukee's top foodie destination.

With that goal in mind, Company B and the Walker's Point Neighborhood Association have now partnered to bring you "Walker's Point Foodie Week," a weeklong event to celebrate all of the restaurants and culinary shops that now thrive in the neighborhood.

The event will held Aug. 9-16 and will feature three-course meals priced at $21 or $31 and specialty gifts at $11 or $21. Plus, a donation of $1 will be made to Feeding America for each sale purchased.

With restaurants such as AP Bar & Kitchen, Black Sheep, Braise, Chez Jacques, Ginger, Indulgence Chocolatiers, La Perla, Prodigal Gastropub, Screaming Tuna, Smyth at The Iron Horse Hotel, Stack'd, Transfer Pizzeria and Wayward Kitchen Co. - you really can't wrong with whichever ones you decide to try during the week. And, more participants may be added soon to the list as well. Thankfully, you have a week to take advantage and try as many as you would like!

A website has been launched to promote the week and will soon include a full list of participating restaurants and businesses as well as menus. You'll be able to build your own itinerary and use the interactive map to plan out your dining path for the week.

Diners will be encouraged to share their photos throughout the week on social media with #wpfoodieweek, and OnMilwaukee.com will share the photos for readers to vote for their favorites for a chance to win $25 gift certificates to Walker's Point eateries. This inaugural event is sponsored by WTMJ-4 and OnMilwaukee.com.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available, and until then, enjoy Downtown Dining Week now!

Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.

What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.

All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
