It’s time to say goodbye to September and welcome ourselves to October!
To kick off this new month and the new season, there are many things to do around MKE including a continuation of Oktoberfest celebrations. You can catch games from the NHL, the Bucks and the Brewers. You can enjoy Halloween movie screenings at the Avalon Atmospheric theater with their annual Shocktoberfest. Jack-O’-Lanterns will be filling the Racine Zoo. You can shop handmade goodies at the Bitchcraft Fair and the Walker’s Point Makers Market Bar Hop. BAY VIEW GALLERY NIGHT
Come to Bay View to check out this celebration of local art, music, business and community. If you check out the surrounding local businesses in this area, you will find art exhibits, photography displays, live music and DJ sets, food and craft vendors and so much more. You can check it out from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This Chicago comedian is headed to MKE to perform at our local comedy venue. She has studied improvisation and sketch writing at comedy programs all over Chicago. She uses her comedy to challenge your assumptions about middle age while still remaining relatable. Come check her out this Friday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.
CONSTELLATIONS OF THE ZODIAC
We have officially entered a new zodiac season. Because of this, the planetarium will be having a live interactive show that will explore the stories and science of the zodiac constellations with a focus on this month’s constellation, Libra. Tickets are $6 and the show begins at 7 p.m.

OLD FASHIONED FEST
Head to the Turner Hall Ballroom for a toast to a Milwaukee classic cocktail. You can sample both classic and re-imagined Old Fashioneds. You won't want to miss this Annual Whiskey vs. Brandy showdown. The fest starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 9 p.m. You can get your tickets here:
ANNUAL HALLOWEEN GALLERY SHOW
Art*Bar is kicking off the spooky season with its 19th annual Halloween art show, “FEAR19.” It opens this Friday and will be around until October 31st. Be one of the first to see the artwork at 7 p.m.
Before it gets too chilly, enjoy one last outdoor movie. This time around you can head to the Harley-Davidson Museum for a screening of “Lightyear” at 6:45 p.m. Be sure to bring your own chairs and blankets!

Get ready to rock out to this group at The Northern Lights Theater. Brady Street's Pet Parade & Art Walk
Join the fun with your beloved pets (furry or scaly) at Brady Street's Annual Pet Parade! There will be contests, music, vendors, a parade, and live art! Sunday, October 2 from 11am - 4pm.

FAMILY FREE DAY
The first Saturday of the month brings you free admission to the zoo. From 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you can enjoy the sights of all the animals including giraffes, lions, bears, and more. Don’t miss out on this.
BAT will be at Uihlein Hall to bring you the music of Meat Loaf. The Neverland Express and American Idol winner Caleb Johnson will come together to perform the entirety of “Bat Out of Hell,” along with other hit songs. It will start at 8 p.m. Tickets are available here.
SCI-FI FAMILY DAY
Come on out for a day full of magnificent costumes, props and displays while interacting with your favorite characters from the sci-fi and fantasy world. Don’t forget to dress up as well. You can head on over there as early as 9 a.m.
