Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks will undergo season-ending wrist surgery next week in Phoenix.

Weeks, who will turn 23 next month, hit .279 with eight homers, 34 RBI, 73 runs and 19 stolen bases. He injured a tendon in his right wrist while waggling a bat in the dugout and it has been painfully snapping in and out of place since.

Recovery time is expected to be two to three months, which means Weeks will be ready for spring training. Weeks underwent surgery on his right thumb last season. Don Sheridan, who performed that procedure, will see Weeks this time as well.
