Denver restaurateur, Brian Culligan, and his brother and executive chef, Michael Culligan, recently completed renovations on the former Tastings building at 315 N. Main St., in West Bend.

The new restaurant is called West Bend Tap and Tavern and it will focus on locally-sourced, fresh food and community involvement. It will be open for lunch and dinner.

The casual restaurant’s menu will offer upscale tavern fare like braised short rib sliders and home-made tater tots.

Prior to opening West Bend Tap and Tavern, Brian spent the last 15 years in Denver as the general manager of Lala’s Wine Bar and Pizzeria. Michael has a degree from the Culinary Institute of America and was the sous chef at Marlowe's in Denver.

West Bend Tap and tavern is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Happy hour is seven days a week from 3 to 6 p.m.
