After 10 years in business, Whiskey Bar, 788 N. Jackson St., will close. However, owner Mike Vitucci says there are big redevelopment plans for the building that he and his associates may be a part of.

"We have been the only tenant in this building for 10 years and knew someday this building would be razed and there will be an incredible development opportunity which we hope to be part of in the upcoming year," says owner Mike Vitucci. "Soon, that multi-story incredible project will be unveiled."

The last day of Whiskey Bar as we know it is Saturday, Feb. 2. The lounge will remain open solely on Fridays and Saturdays until the final night of service. Stay tuned to OnMilwaukee for more information about future plans for the building and the lounge in the near future.

"We would like to thank Milwaukee and all the surrounding suburbs for giving us 10 glorious years. We hope you come and join us during the month of January," says Vitucci.

In 2009, OnMilwaukee hosted one of its most epic staff and advertiser parties at Whiskey Bar, a "Mad Men"-themed soiree that would have made Don Draper and the rest of his martini-and-Old-Fashioned-guzzling cronies proud. Thanks for the memories, Whiskey Bar.
