Yesterday marked one of my favorite days of the year. No, not because it was Labor Day and we got bonus weekend fun. No, this year, Monday was the day that Deadspin reached into its annual "Why Your Team Sucks" bag to berate our beloved Green Bay Packers. And boy, author Drew Magary – an admitted Minnesota Vikings fan – did not hold back.
I can't help but laugh my ass off when some of these egregious lines are even half-true. Or partially true. Or, if we're being completely honest, totally dead spot-on accurate. Sorry folks, we Packers fans can be downright terrible – and we ought to be able to joke about ourselves, right? Any fan base that blames the star of "Office Christmas Party" for a football loss probably has it coming.
My favorite part is actually the "Hear It From Packers Fans" part near the end. Like this from Molly: "I now head into the playoffs wondering what new, unique way my soul will be crushed in the NFC Divisional or Championship game." I feel you, girl.
Either way, laugh all the way to the bank (and, probably, to another Green Bay NFC North Division title) with this year's edition. After all, better to be a joke in a Deadspin article than to be a joke on the field. Right, Bears fans?
Carolynn Buser is one of Milwaukee's loudest and most adamant cheerleaders (don't dare try to disagree). She's the primary voice behind much of OnMilwaukee's social media and content direction, and apologizes in advance if she can be too sarcastic at times.
What else? She's a wine lover, closet trashy novel reader, beauty supplies addict and devourer of cheese (shocker for a Wisconsin born and bred girl, right?). She's also a bit of a foodie, which is a word most of you hate, we know. She works as hard as she plays - and that includes in the gym! So, you've probably seen her at one of the area's newest restaurant openings (and yes, she will share her opinions good or bad) or enjoying a cold one at a local pub.
All in all, Carolynn's a believer in positive thinking and will do her best to smack down your negative ones while writing about her city, her loves, quests and more.
